So when it came to buying furniture for the twins' bedroom, my daughter asked Sherry for something in red. This is the beautiful furniture that she refinished and distressed for the bedroom. Sherry has an antique booth at Lonestar Antique Mall in Fort Worth, Texas.

 The perfect balance between glamour and rust - that's the heading on Shanty Girl's Blog and she certainly achieves this in her delightful booth at Picker's Point in Keller, Texas. Sherry is a master at taking something that most of us would discard and turning it into a treasure that might be found in grandma's attic. After spending the morning with Sherry at her booth, we headed to Roanoke, now proclaimed the Dining Capital of Texas, for lunch. New development is expanding the downtown area continuing the old world feel.

Shanty Girl Studio

Last week-end we stopped by the Shanty Girl studio (where all the magic happens) and Sherry explained to us how the shabby chic room came to be. Inspired by the story of a Parisian apartment that was abandoned for 70 years (you can read about it here), Sherry put together an assortment of furniture and yard sale finds and got to work painting, distressing and even rubber stamping some of the furniture.
