Fort Worth Japanese Garden

Today was a nice sunny day and perfect time to visit the Fort Worth Japanese Garden where cherry blossoms are in bloom. It's hard to believe the garden was once a quarry and also a dumping ground for horse manure during the First World War when horses and troops were trained at nearby Camp Bowie.

Japanese Garden

One of the attractions here in Fort Worth is the Botanical Gardens with over a hundred acres of native and exotic plants. And among the foliage is nestled another gem, The Japanese Garden. Over the years we've taken family pictures there, pictures of my daughter's wedding and most recently of the grandchildren. Last year the Japanese Garden was featured on Texas Country Reporter. It's a little oasis in the center of Fort Worth.

Note: Although there is no charge to visit the Botanical Gardens, there is a small charge to enter the Japanese Gardens.
