Hermine Hits Texas

Hermine was downgraded to a tropical storm, but nevertheless left behind up to 12 inches of rain in some parts of North Texas.

This morning a ringing telephone woke me. A public announcement (I’m assuming from the city) stated that Mary’s Creek had flooded - the creek flows at the end of our street. A tornado was also spotted over Benbrook Lake but didn’t appear to cause any damage.
Temperatures have dropped to the 70s and more thunderstorms are headed this way, but we will be back up to 90 degree heat by the week-end.

Week-End Storms

I started off the week-end at a friend's house, took my swimsuit and planned on some relaxation time floating in their pool but before long the dark clouds enveloped us and a torrential rainpour left us with very little visability.

At home I discovered high winds had felled a tree and tomorrow I'll be sawing logs - so much for a relaxing week-end.
