Someone Else's Shoes was a great summer read. Nisha Cantor is very much enjoying her jet setting life, with a rich and indulgent husband until she finds out he has been planning a divorce. To add to her distress, while at a local gym, she picks up the wrong bag. Hers had contained both expensive clothes and even more expensive designer shoes. The one left behind holds discount shoes and items she would normally never wear.
Sam, on the other hand, has a stressful job, a husband who is both unemployed and depressed and a difficult daughter. When she discovers her bag has been swapped, she enjoys some moments of pleasure wearing Nicha's shoes and observes that people treat her differently and she herself feels more powerful.
While trying to find her bearings, Nisha discovers there are many kind people willing to help her, despite her situation with all her finances frozen and unable to access her clothes and belongings.
