Nelson DeMille's The Cuban Affair has off-the-cuff humor, tense moments and an intriguing story with a backdrop of communist Cuba. Nelson DeMille's books never disappoint and this is no exception. Another one for my favorite book list.
After five years in the Army Mac has resettled in Key West running a charter fishing boat. When he's approached for a covert mission in Cuba, his interest is piqued especially when teamed up with a beautiful Cuban-American woman. Their goal is to recover sixty million dollars hidden in a Cuban cave. They join an educational tour with strict instructions not to stray from the path or leave the group. But their plan is to escape from the group on the last day find the money and leave on Mac's boat.
