False Alarm by Bjorn Lomborg

False Alarm by Bjorn Lomborg advises us that although global warming is real, we shouldn't put all our focus and money only on climate - there are many problems we need to deal with. The rush to spend vast funds on climate control which with the current plans will only keep the climate warming reduction less than 1.5 degrees he feels is not a smart move. Currently Joe Biden's plan to spend 500 billion dollars per annum will have very little effect with the ideas he has chosen to spend the money on. Lockdowns during the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic lowered pollution by around 4 percent but no one wants to live like that and in the process destroy the economy.

Bill Gates' idea of opening safer nuclear sites would be more productive than the ideas of pushing more electric cars and wind turbines (that are not overly effective and leave behind large amounts of waste when they are dismantled). Electric vehicles need large batteries which will not be recycled and cause more waste. Plus all these ideas use power to assemble and develop which seems to defeat the purpose of clean energy.

Dr. Bjorn Lomborg  suggests looking to innovation to solve the problem instead of throwing money at projects that are not effective. You only have to look at the $570 million tax payer money spent on failed Obama projects like Solyndra to know that the government is yet again on the wrong track.

The innovation Dr. Lomborg talks about is finding ways to combat the problem like the design of the catalytic converter which substantially reduced pollution in the Los Angeles area. We need to encourage and fund innovators.
