Anxious for Nothing by Max Lucado

Max Lucado is an author and pastor at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio. He is also known for his children's books.

Anxious for Nothing points those anxious to seek God rather than dwelling on a meteor shower of What Ifs.

Perceived control brings calm, but control is impossible and it is soon lost, so instead of focusing on temporary setbacks, look toward God's word for encouragement.

Instead of thinking if only . . . (richer, thinner, marriage, divorce, job, material things) replace these thoughts with gratitude. Our circumstances won't change but our attitude will.

Grateful people are:

More empathetic
Forgiving of others
Positive outlook on life
Less envy, materialism and self centeredness
Higher self esteem
Quality of sleep
