Lark Rise to Candleford is lovely series adapted from Flora Thompson's memoir of her Oxfordshire childhood set in the small hamlet of Lark Rise and the wealthier neighboring market town, Candleford, at the end of the 19th Century. It reminded me a little of Cranford. Lark Rise to Candleford is currently playing on Public Television, but I found the series at our local library. The characters are each unique and Dawn French is (as always) amazing in her part (before her big weight loss). This is a lovely series and I can't wait to pick up a copy of series 2.
