Carnival Caribbean Cruise - Arriving in Galveston

Carnival Conquest leaves from Galveston for a seven day cruise stopping at Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. The night before our cruise we joined the Mardi Gras celebrations in Galveston and booked into the Casa Del Mar Hotel. Galveston has recovered significantly from the 2008 hurricane but there are still remnants of damage contrasting with new buildings. After a morning walk along the beach and breakfast we headed to the terminal to board the Carnival Conquest sailing past the Elissa an 1877 ship and Texas Seaport Museum.
