The Fort Worth Symphony offers a Summer Music Festival at the Botanic Garden each year with music ranging from the Eagles, a tribute to Elvis and ending with the 1812 Overture on the July 4th week-end.
On Sunday, I spent the evening at the Gardens with some of my neighbors (one is a master gardener and had volunteered to work at the concert).
Playing was the Crawfish band. Crawfish, many of who are from the Fort Worth area, have a loyal following and played music from the 50s, 60s and 70s to an enthusiastic crowd. We sang along, clapped and watched people dancing in the aisles and on the grass verges. At the end, fireworks filled the sky with sparkling red, white and blue stars.
