Corduroy Mansions is another delightful story by Alexander McCall Smith. He gives each of the quirky characters in the Pimlico, London Mansions (apartments) a unique lifestyle: The wine merchant who is hopelessly trying to get his son to "fly the nest," the boutique caterer who has her eyes set on the wine merchant, the woman who works for a loathsome member of parliament and an art student. Thrown into the mix is a Pimlico Terrier - Freddie de la Hay who had been unceremoniously ejected from his job sniffing for illegal drugs and cash at the airport when the powers that be decided there was no diversity and brought in female dogs!
