An Evening with Jeff Shaara

This evening the Fort Worth Star Telegram hosted another evening with an author. We were privileged to meet New York Times Best Selling Author Jeff Shaara who is promoting his book No Less than Victory. Jeff didn't start out as a writer but was entertained as a child by his father's stories around the dinner table. His father was Michael Shaara, who wrote the Pulitzer Prize winning novel The Killer Angels which was made into a movie called Gettysburg. His father didn't live to see the popularity of his book and died before the movie was made. Jeff was approached and asked to write a prequel to the movie and Jeff's writing career began. He not only wrote the manuscript, which became the Gods and Generals screenplay, but the manuscript was also chosen to be printed in book form. With an enthusiasm that comes from his heart, Jeff shared his love of writing and his love of the characters he produces. He has written about the Civil War, World War I and World War II.
