July 4th Festivities

I hope everyone had a safe and happy July 4th. We went to the Fort Worth CATS game on Wednesday which went on until the 11th inning. The Fire Marshall suspended the game at one point as the fireworks were required to begin by 11:00 p.m. It was thought there was an accidental fire during the display, but apparently there is something new called the wall of fire. It didn't really add to the enjoyment of the fireworks and not a good idea with the ground being so dry this time of year. The games played at La Grave field are always a fun family event with lots of participation for children and they love following Dodger the mascot.

July 4th we watched fireworks that were launched from Panther Island Pavilion. With a backdrop of downtown Fort Worth the fireworks (some from our sister city in Japan) were magnificent. Panther Island has become a popular place to watch fireworks in Fort Worth. From our vantage point we also had views of other displays including the Concerts in the Garden.
