On Words by Paula LaRocque

Paula LaRocque has an impressive biography. She is a communications consultant and has conducted writing workshops, has been a frequent columnist in the Dallas Morning News and a consultant for the Associated Press. On Words is a collection that originally appeared in Quill the Society of Professional Journalists' magazine.
Unlike the dictionary, that simply gives us correct pronunciation and use of words, Paula puts a humorous spin  on words we no longer use, words misused and crazy labels.

A caution on a five-inch fishing device with three steel hooks: "Harmful if swallowed."

For more grammar tips and punctuation, hop on over to Paula LaRocque's blog.

She was kind enough, to stop by and talk to our book club when we read her first mystery novel Chalk Line.
