Writing a Children's Book

Now I have grandchildren, I'm looking into writing some children's books for them and started researching how to write a children's book sites. Here's what I've found out. If you have anything to add, I'd love to hear from you in the comment section.

• Typical size for ages 2-6 years is 32 pages.
• Bad guys never win
• The ending has to be happy (think ugly duckling turns into beautiful swan)
• If something is scary it should never touch the child (or animal)
• Like any story it has to have a beginning, middle and end.
• Illustrations can be scanned or to get a better resolution, get a photographer to take a picture and save as a JPEG file.
