Saint Arnold Brewery

Named after Saint Arnold, the patron saint of brewers, the Houston Brewery is the oldest craft brewery in Texas. With a crew of only 29, the Saint Arnold Brewery continues to grow. It was opened in 1994 by founder Brock Wagner. We were fortunate to hear him speak at the Capital Bar in Fort Worth this month. Brock is an entertaining and humorous speaker and obviously loves his craft. Did you know the difference between ale and lager is the yeast used? Just one of the many facts that he spouted off before he was bombarded with questions. This was another event by the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History as part of their Public Knowledge program. Look for future events here - they're well worth attending.

Cool! I didn't know the difference between ale and lager before!

I'm from Texas, and I've never heard of this brewery. 'Course I don't drink much beer. That's probably why.

I don't drink beer that often but this post made me recall my favorite pale ale by a microbrewery in Berkeley...yum!

I forgot to add that next time I'm in Houston, I'm gonna try to find this brewery, though.
