Glen Rose

After the storms passed through this month we had a family outing to Glen Rose.  Glen Rose is a small town by the Paluxy River and just outside the town is Dinosaur Valley State Park.   The dinosaur models at the entrance of the park (they were displayed at the 1964 World's Fair in New York City) lead to the river where dinosaur tracks were discovered in 1909. Many of the tracks have since been moved to the American Museum of Natural History in New York, but there are still plenty to see.  Because the recent rain storm has caused the river to be higher than usual, we chose not to cross the stepping stones to view the largest collection of tracks, but you can view them on google images here. The courthouse gazebo also has an embedded stone from the river showing one of the tracks.  More information here
