Trans Siberian Orchestra

The Trans Siberian Orchestra finished its 2009 tour in Dallas, Texas yesterday with dynamic music and a colorful light show. The orchestra, which they refer to as TSO, is neither from Siberia, nor a foreign country but the New York founder, Paul O'Neill, was inspired by the Trans Siberian Railway, which connects isolated cultures, and the name Trans Siberian Orchestra was formed. His goal was to develop a new sound. Their Christmas Carols (Christmas Eve and Other Stories) played in a rock opera style have been a huge success starting with Christmas in Sarajevo. The story behind the music for this particular arrangement is of a man returning to war torn Bosnia and amongst the rubble he took out his cello and began to play. You can read more about the story here
